Ashdoui is a weaving technique used by the nomads of the Sahara and the Siroua pre-Saharan massif in the Anti Atlas.

  • Made of pure wool and always the work of nomadic women.
  • I have the privilege of meeting the women of Siroua through my work as a mountain guide.
  • We were able to come up with this idea, which enabled us to make these beautiful carpets.

Description

The Ashdoui technique is an ancestral weaving method used by the nomads of the Sahara and the pre-Saharan massif of Siroua in the Anti-Atlas. This method makes the mat extremely robust, capable of withstanding the rigors of nomadic travel and providing excellent thermal insulation during the winter. This is the same technique used to make bournous and djellabas, ensuring warmth and durability. Made of pure wool, this rug is the work of nomadic women. I had the privilege of meeting these Siroua artisans through my work as a mountain guide. From this meeting was born the idea of creating these magnificent rugs, merging tradition and innovation.

  • Dimensions: 2.50 m x 3 m
  • Care instructions: Wash at 30°C

Each rug is a unique piece, tailor-made according to your color and size preferences, demonstrating exceptional know-how and a rich artisanal tradition.
